Humans are the result of millions of years of patient evolution. It seems now as though we may be among the planet’s most endangered species, perhaps destined to be wiped away, even before many of the other species over which we thought we had dominion. Only if we quickly apply our wonderful curiosity and improve our ability to mend, might we save the living things around us and, thus, ourselves.
