“Due to my regulatory background and scientific background in respiratory health, my basic concern is the lack of serious testing of pesticides and their potential consequences on everything, from endangered species up the food chain to us. The pharmaceutical industry in particular has a general short sightedness when it comes to investigating long-term consequences. The official approval process that does not have post-marketing testing and it is not until lawsuits are initiated that these consequences are addressed. These concerns should not be shelved, long-termed testing must be part of the regulatory system, and we cannot just rely on the judicial system.”
